A Family Album: Post Animal in Europe
Photos by Marie Renaud
I took these photos while on tour with Post Animal this past July— their first ever tour in Europe. To say these guys are my friends would be a huge understatement. They’re my family. The first night of the tour in Berlin was so emotional for me. I remember looking around the packed venue and tearing up because I felt so incredibly proud of them and happy for them. I kept thinking about how years ago I was watching them play in nearly empty bars, and now they were playing a show in Germany. I’m so grateful to have been able to join them for that tour. I’ll never forget it— seeing so many new places with my best friends, watching them shine, and documenting it for us all.
We began the tour by driving from Chicago to New York and then flew overseas from there. We spent a couple nights in upstate NY before going to the airport. Here’s Dalton and Jake going to water our hosts’ garden.

First official night of the tour in Berlin. The venue was right on a river and the place was packed. Everyone was feeling jet lagged but spirits were so high.

Dalton and Wes in Paris before the rowdiest show of the tour.
In Manchester, right before the show.
Wes during a sleepy drive somewhere in the UK.
Javi and Jake in Glasgow— one of my favorite cities of the tour.
At a gas station somewhere in Scotland. Couldn’t get over all the rolling green hills dotted with sheep.
Matt in Liverpool.
Dalton in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, a little island off the coast of England. A truly magical place. Maybe my favorite night of the tour. They played a little festival right on the ocean called Ventnor Fringe and everyone loved them so much. We hung out with the locals after and enjoyed the warm salty night air.

Wes in London on the hottest day in history.
Javi during a night swim in Italy. They played in a small town near Venice at Curtarock Festival where we had the most amazing homemade pasta and I got to watch the cutest toddlers dance along to their set.
Javi in Venice after a long, hot day of exploring— the only full day off during the tour.

Keep up with Post Animal and Marie.
