I started recording this album at the beginning of last year in my Passaic, NJ studio when my other band (The World War I's) was on a bit of a hiatus. My bandmate, Sam Trioli, needed to be up in New Hampshire for a number of months, so I decided to turn some demos that I had been messing around with into real songs. At the time, I just wanted to make fun music, the sort of music I like to dance to. I had a lot of fun working on it. Now I live in Milan, Italy but I'm coming back to tour America and spread the Surly gospel.
I hope Ham Radio is as fun to listen to as it was to make. If you take away even the smallest pleasure, then it was all worth it. - Will Brown, The Duke of Surl
