New wave synths and leather jackets were the theme of the night when we caught up with Rey Pila at Brooklyn's Baby’s All Right. Mexico City couldn’t keep them a secret, and lead singer Diego Solórzano would’ve never let it. With two full albums, an EP and Julian Casablancas' co-sign under their belt, Diego's voice is heard worldwide, booming over quick paced Bowie-esque dance vibes. Before sharing the stage with Romes and The Britanys, Rey Pila bestowed sage Hispanic advice upon us in their setlist.
The Britanys' drummer and Rey Pila’s new bestie Steele Kratt wanted in on the fun, too, so he made a setlist of his own. We couldn’t say no. Trust me, We tried. He’s a real charmer, though.
Catch Rey Pila next time in New York August 15th and 16th at Berlin.
