Music Video Premiere: "Sorry" from Hala
21-year-old artist Ian Ruhala, better known as Hala, makes dreamy bedroom pop out of Detroit, Michigan. He started his project, Hala, in 2014, as a junior in high school. Back then, he was intrigued by the idea of recording at home, because the task itself seemed like a stand-alone art form. In 2016, he put out his first, full-length album Spoonfed.
Last week he released "Sorry," the first single off his 7" vinyl and is now premiering the music video, which shows him happily dancing through the foggy streets of Detroit. The four minutes is full on John Mayer prancercise vibes matched with some sweet karaoke subtitles to sing along to while you get your 80s exercise on. Ian just finished doing a short tour in Anna Burch's band and is now set to tour with BOYO this Summer. Scroll through to watch the premiere of "Sorry" and listen to some tunes below.
