"Mea Culpa" Caroline Says Music Video Premiere
Austin by way of Alabama musician, Caroline Sallee, aka Caroline Says released her sophomore album No Fool Like An Old Fool back in March. After moving to Austin from her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama in 2013, she gained a new perspective on her hometown which informed the overall vibe of the album. “I think leaving my fairly small hometown and then going back to visit it inspired the feeling I went for on this album. I observed that so many people I knew were content doing basically nothing. Or that they were scared to try to do anything or leave town, like they felt stuck there.”
The inspiration for the "Mea Culpa" video came from a similar period of contemplation. Sallee made the video with friend James Pritchard who had never filmed anything before. Spending two days wandering around looking for different puddles and creeks to film, they created a video entirely made of shots of reflections of water. Once they completed the music video, Pritchard then bought a proper video camera.
