Midweek Music: Patrick Phillips of Honduras

My band was on the road quite a bit this last year, crossing the country four different times in our swanky Toyota Sienna. The road can be taxing but overall it's thrilling to soak in the country and play a show in a different city every night. However, for a band our size these tours don't pay particularly well. When the final show is over and the gear is loaded back at the practice space there's only one thing left to do: get your broke ass back to work. I bartend at a music venue in Bushwick and this playlist is an ode to getting through your shift. The louder the music the easier it is to avoid meaningless conversations with the drunks. Work sucks, but if you play in a band another source of income is essential.
